Our Story

Building financial confidence in Leeds families for over eight years

Founded on a Simple Belief

Azure Cedar began in 2015 when our founder, a former secondary school teacher and certified financial planner, noticed a troubling pattern. Bright, capable students were graduating without basic money management skills. Young professionals were accumulating debt. Parents felt unequipped to guide their children's financial education.

The problem wasn't intelligence or motivation—it was access. Quality financial education remained locked behind expensive consultations or dense textbooks. We set out to change that by creating accessible, engaging programmes that transform how people think about money.

What Guides Us

Practical Application

Every concept we teach connects to real decisions learners face. Abstract theory gives way to actionable strategies that work in daily life.

Age-Appropriate Depth

A seven-year-old and a forty-year-old need different approaches. Our curriculum adapts to developmental stages and life circumstances.

Judgement-Free Learning

Financial mistakes don't define capability. Our classrooms welcome questions without shame, fostering genuine understanding.

Long-Term Perspective

Quick fixes fade. We build habits and frameworks that serve learners for decades, not just until the next payday.

Our Teaching Team

Every Azure Cedar instructor holds recognised credentials in both education and finance. Many transitioned from careers in banking, accounting, or financial planning because they wanted to share their knowledge more broadly. Others began as teachers who pursued financial certifications to fill a gap they saw in traditional curricula.

This blend of expertise means our learners benefit from real-world insight delivered through proven pedagogical methods. Theory meets practice in every session.

Our team undergoes continuous professional development, staying current with tax changes, investment products, and evolving best practices in financial planning.

Our Teaching Approach

Small Group Sessions

Classes cap at twelve participants, ensuring everyone receives attention and can ask questions freely. Larger workshops use breakout groups to maintain this intimate feel.

Interactive Exercises

Passive listening doesn't build skills. Our sessions include budgeting simulations, investment scenarios, and collaborative problem-solving that engage learners actively.

Take-Home Resources

Every course includes worksheets, templates, and guides that participants keep. These tools support continued practice long after the course concludes.

Follow-Up Support

Questions often arise weeks after learning new concepts. Course alumni can contact our team for clarification as they apply their knowledge.

Rooted in Leeds

Our courses take place across several locations in Leeds, chosen for accessibility and comfortable learning environments. We partner with community centres, libraries, and educational facilities throughout the city.

For families unable to travel easily, we offer select programmes in local neighbourhoods. Corporate clients can arrange on-site sessions at their offices.

Being locally based means we understand the specific economic context our learners navigate—from Yorkshire housing markets to regional employment patterns.
